Thank You

Well, here we are at the beginning of 2025, and the weather is not being kind to us—high winds and rain, as if December and Storm Darrah didn’t give us enough to handle already.

Our Christmas Fayre on December 8th started badly, with the village of Beoley having no electricity. This meant the Fayre at the hall had no heating, no lights, and no facilities to make hot drinks. After months of preparation to get everything ready, the decision was made to go ahead and make the most of what we could. Canceling at such short notice would have meant letting a lot of people down.

We put out messages and appealed to all our loyal supporters, explaining what had happened. Despite the cold and slightly gloomy atmosphere, and with plenty of cake to go around, we decided to proceed—and you didn’t let us down. You turned up and helped us raise an incredible £1,185 for our rescue cats.

A huge well done to everyone who made the effort to support our cats, who sadly had to spend Christmas at the rescue instead of in homes of their own.

We mustn’t forget all the wonderful volunteers who gave up their precious time and cared enough to set up and manage the stalls. A special thank you goes to the ladies in the kitchen, who worked tirelessly during the brief hour the electricity came back on to get as many hot drinks out as possible. Everyone went above and beyond under such difficult circumstances. I also want to thank everyone for putting up with me on one of my “stress-head” days as I tried to get everything sorted.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has left food, toys, and gifts, as well as those who continue to leave food donations in our collection points at Tesco and Morrisons. These contributions help us immensely in feeding our feral colonies, which consist of cats that have been abandoned, and in supporting families who are struggling with the cost of living.

Two little words from the bottom of my heart:

THANK YOU.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us to care for those who cannot help themselves.
